Getting Started with Your District Technology

New computer, or new to Noble Public Schools? A few one-time steps get everything working smoothly — here’s what to know on day one, and how to sign in to each app.

First-Day Reminders

A few quick things that prevent most first-week headaches.

  • Login procedure: you will need to log into your computer three times before you can install any software or printers. To speed this up, log in, wait a few minutes, then reboot — and repeat that process two more times.
  • Windows 11 setup: when you log in for the first time, a few apps need to be signed into separately to fully enjoy Windows 11. See the sign-in checklist below.
  • PowerSchool: sign in to Chrome/Google before accessing PowerSchool Teacher or Canvas. If PowerSchool Teacher isn’t available to you yet, check with your school administration on when you’ll have access.
  • OneDrive sync: your Documents and Desktop folders sync automatically with OneDrive, so your files are available when you’re away from your computer — visit office.com website, sign in with your school email, and open OneDrive. Just make sure you sign in to the OneDrive app on your computer first.
  • Desk phone & voicemail: set up your voicemail greeting and PIN on day one so callers don’t hit a dead end. Get to Know Your Phone walks you through it — voicemails are emailed to you automatically.
  • Printers: printers install automatically once the login procedure above is complete. Still can’t print after your third login? Submit a work order and we’ll get you connected.
  • Instructional Technology Coach: need help with any software? Book a session with David.
  • Technical support: for any technical issues, submit a work order.

Downloads Folder Auto-Delete

The Downloads folder automatically deletes any items not modified in the past 30 days. Move critical downloads to a different folder right away — your Documents folder is a safe choice, since it syncs to OneDrive. We are dedicated to maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of your data, and this change provides better security.

Apps You Need to Sign Into

After you’ve logged into your computer, sign in to each of these individually. Select a tile to jump to its steps.

Chrome Web Browser

  1. Open Chrome

On your computer, open the Chrome web browser.

  2. Start the sign-in

If it’s the first time you’re opening Chrome, you’ll see a Set your browser page — click “Already a Chrome user? Sign in.” If you don’t see that page, click Profile at the top right, then click + Add.

Click Start, type Teams, and click on “Microsoft Teams (Work or school)” or “Microsoft Teams.”

  2. Let it sign you in

It should log you in automatically.

Click the gear at the bottom of the screen.

  3. Set the default location

Scroll down to Default Location and type in Noble, OK.

Passwords & Security

Your account is the key to everything above — here’s how to keep it working and keep it safe.

  • Changing your password: the Help Center’s Change Your Password guide covers it step by step, plus what to do if you’re locked out.
  • Two-factor authentication (2FA/MFA): several sign-ins above ask for a second verification step. Set yours up once and you’re covered — see Set Up Two-Factor Authentication.
  • Rave Panic Button: our emergency alerting app for staff phones. Install it for iPhone or Android, then request authorization.

Think Before You Click

Noble uses KnowBe4 for security awareness training — you’ll receive assigned modules and simulated phishing emails that test what you’ve learned. Watch for unexpected senders, urgent language, mismatched links, and surprise attachments. Got a suspicious email? Report it to support@nobleps.com.
