Everything You Do in Frontline

Frontline Education is the online system Noble uses to track your paperwork, professional development points, absences, and time clock. One account covers all of it, and Human Resources manages it end to end.

Three Systems, One Account

Frontline is really three connected websites. Knowing which one you need saves a lot of clicking.

Signing In

Frontline works in any web browser and through the Frontline Education app, which you can download free from your phone's app store. Sign in to either at wwebsitea websitepp.frontlineeducation.com.

Your Frontline sign-in is the username and password you created when you were hired. It is separate from your district Google and Microsoft accounts — changing your district password does not change your Frontline password, and vice versa.

Can't remember them? Contact Human Resources. They can tell you your username and send you a password reset. Accounts are only ever created from an invitation Human Resources sends, so there's nothing to set up on your own — and no need to.

Absence Management

Absence Management tracks your absences and assigns substitutes to the jobs that need filling. Entering the absence here is what starts the process — Human Resources fills the substitute from there.

Enter it as soon as you know

Enter your absence as soon as you realize you will not be able to attend work, and follow the Noble policies located in the Negotiated Agreement. The earlier an absence is in the system, the more time there is to find a substitute.

Creating an absence

  1. Open Create Absence

Sign in to Frontline and go to Absence Management. Use the Create Absence tab on the home page, or Absences in the side navigation.

  2. Pick your dates

Click a date on the calendar, or click and drag to select several. Your selection highlights in blue. The days don't have to be consecutive, and on the web you can create an absence up to a year in advance.

  3. Fill in the details

Set Substitute Required, choose your Absence Reason from the dropdown, and set the Time — Full Day, Half Day AM, Half Day PM, or Custom.

  4. Add notes and attachments

Notes to the Administrator are not visible to your substitute. Notes to the Substitute are visible to both. You can also attach Word, Excel, or PDF files — lesson plans, seating charts, duty schedules.

  5. Click Create Absence

The button is in the bottom right corner. Nothing is submitted until you click it.

Checking your leave balances

Your leave balances live in Absence Management, not on your pay stub.

  • Under Navigation, select Account — then, under Personal Info, select Absence Reason Balance.
  • The initial date is always the last day in June of the previous year — that's the start of the leave year, not an error.

Time and Attendance

Support staff use Time and Attendance to document hours worked. You can clock in through the Time and Attendance website or the Frontline Education app.

Clocking in needs district Wi-Fi

To clock in or out from your own phone or laptop, you have to be connected to the district network — cellular data won't reach it. Every site also keeps a Chromebook set aside for clocking in and out; sign in on that with your Frontline username and password if you'd rather not use your own device.

Submitting your timesheet

Timesheets are submitted at the end of each pay period.

  1. Open your timesheet

Sign in to Time and Attendance and click the Timesheet icon on your home page. Use the Calendar icon to move to a different timeframe; each day of the week appears as a bar you can open.

  2. Review it before you submit

Check the recorded hours against the days you actually worked, and look for a missing clock-in or clock-out. Reviewing is all you can do here — you can't change your own time.

  3. If something's wrong, ask your supervisor

Only your supervisor can edit your time. Tell them what needs fixing and let them correct it before you submit — a correction is far easier before the timesheet is in the approval queue than after.

  4. Submit

Click Submit in the upper-right corner, check the box beside each timesheet you're submitting, and click Continue. Add a comment for your approver if you need to, tick the box certifying the hours are accurate, and click Submit Timesheets.

Don't submit a day with no time on it

If you submit days with no time recorded, leave or unpaid leave will be entered for those days. Make sure every day you worked shows hours before you certify and submit.

The guide above is Frontline's general documentation. Its “Reviewing and Editing Your Timesheet” section describes adding and editing time entries — at Noble those controls belong to your supervisor, not to you. Everything else in it applies.

Forms & Your Personal Information

Frontline is where you view your personal information and complete forms for Human Resources. Find them under NavigationMy FormsForms I Can Start.

  • Professional development forms — how you turn in a training certificate for PD points. Steps below.
  • Tax forms — complete and sign online instead of on paper.
  • Direct deposit forms — set up or change where your pay is deposited.
  • Apply for leave exchange — submitted here rather than through the Central Office.

One form that isn't in Frontline

The acknowledgement form for duty to report child abuse is handled the old way — email it to hr@nobleps.com or send it through inner-office mail. Don't go looking for it in Frontline.

Turning In Training & PD Points

District-assigned trainings — Asthma Awareness and Allergy & Anaphylaxis, for example — are completed in OSDE Connect, the State Department of Education's Canvas catalog. Frontline is where the certificate goes afterward. Each of those trainings is worth one PD point, and Human Resources approves them.

Step 1 — Download your certificate from OSDE Connect

  1. Log in to OSDE Connect

Go to o websites websitedeconnect.pdx.catalog.canvaslms.com and sign in.

  2. Click your name at the top

Then go to the Completed tab. For the Allergy & Anaphylaxis training, the certificate is under your name on the Student Dashboard instead.

  3. Download and save the file

Click Download beside the class and save the certificate somewhere you can find it again in a minute.

Step 2 — Submit it in Frontline

  1. Open Forms I Can Start

Sign in to Frontline and go to NavigationMy FormsForms I Can Start.

  2. Start the Professional Development Points form

Find it in the list and click Start this form.

  3. Upload the certificate and submit

Attach the file you saved and submit the form. The training and the PD point are then recorded on your Frontline account, and HR has your certificate on file.
