Questions & Answers

Frequently asked questions.

What is a school bond issue?
A school bond issue is a voter-approved funding measure that allows schools to fund facility improvements, transportation, technology, and other school-related projects. When approved by voters, the district sells bonds and repays them over time through property taxes. Bond funds can only be used for approved projects and cannot be used for salaries or daily operating expenses.
When is the school bond election?
The NPS bond election will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
What is included in the 2026 bond proposal?
The bond proposal includes approximately $86.3 million in projects focused on growth, safety, academics, fine arts, athletics, and district-wide improvements. Major projects include a new 5th and 6th Grade School, classroom additions at Pioneer and Katherine I. Daily Elementary, a new District Administration Office (administration, child nutrition, technology and maintenance), and a new Fine Arts Center at the high school. The proposal also includes playground and parking improvements at John K. Hubbard Elementary, new locker rooms at Curtis Inge Middle School and Noble High School, turf upgrades for the high school softball/baseball field, a new stadium press box, and district-wide safety and security upgrades. Proposition No. 2 includes approximately $3.6 million for new transportation vehicles and equipment.
Why will there be two propositions on the ballot?
Under Oklahoma law, school transportation bonds must be listed separately from other school bond projects on the ballot. Proposition 1 includes district-wide capital improvements, facility additions, safety upgrades, and other school projects totaling approximately $86.3 million. Proposition 2 includes approximately $3.6 million for student transportation vehicles and equipment.
Will taxes go up if the bond is approved by voters?
No tax increase. The bond proposal is structured to be completed within the district's current projected debt capacity. District financial advisors monitor property valuation growth, interest rates, and existing bond obligations to help manage the overall tax impact to residents.
Would every school benefit?
Yes. Every Noble Public Schools campus would benefit from improvements included in the 2026 bond proposal, with projects focused on safety, facility updates, academics, student activities, and long-term district needs.
What percentage is required for the bond to pass?
School bonds require a supermajority of 60 percent of votes to pass.
Will teachers receive a salary increase because of the bond?
No, state law prohibits money generated by a bond proposal to be used for salaries or operational costs. Bonds are earmarked for one-time costs such as school facilities, capital improvements, instructional materials, and transportation.
What if I don't have children or students in your schools?
Strong schools benefit the entire community. Great schools support property values, attract families and businesses, and help prepare today's students to become tomorrow's workforce, homeowners, and community leaders. Noble is growing, with new housing developments and more families moving into the area. Investing in schools helps the community grow responsibly while maintaining the quality of life residents value. Previous generations invested in the schools that benefited you and your families. Supporting this bond issue is supporting our current families as well as those yet to come.
