About US
Why Noble
A place, not just a district
Most school districts know their test scores, but can't always explain their purpose. Noble can. Located six miles south of Norman and twenty-eight miles from downtown Oklahoma City, our town offers easy access to Lake Thunderbird, the University of Oklahoma, and the prairie reaching the Canadian River. Our students grow up surrounded by these landmarks — an SEC university campus to explore, a major airport nearby, a state capitol to visit on field trips, and a small hometown to return to.
Noble is uniquely recognized as the Rose Rock Capital of the World. The rose rock — Oklahoma's state rock since 1968 — forms naturally in the red sandstone beneath us. Our town hosts a music festival every May, features mascots named after bears, and closes Main Street for a parade, embodying a community that truly means something.
People who stay
Visit a Noble school, and you'll encounter teachers who previously taught the parents of current students. You'll also meet bus drivers, custodians, and lunch staff whose own children wear Noble Bears T-shirts on Fridays. Principals are on a first-name basis with their families. This continuity is intentional. Our district has invested in retaining excellent educators — all teachers are fully licensed, the student-to-teacher ratio is 17:1, and a community foundation funds unique classroom projects beyond state budget constraints.
Small enough that every student is known by name. Large enough to offer the academics, athletics, and arts that prepare them for whatever comes next.
Students who go further
Our graduation rate has risen from 79% to 85–89% over five recent school years — a gain that doesn't happen by accident. It happens because counselors track every senior. Because the high school has expanded AP and concurrent enrollment options. Because the foundation funds named scholarships. Because the community shows up.
Our reading proficiency at Noble High School outpaces the Oklahoma state average by more than ten percentage points. Our students take the field, the stage, and the robotics arena — and they win. And when they leave us, they leave ready: for the University of Oklahoma down the road, for trades and military service, for first-generation college careers, for whatever they decide is next.
A future we're building together
The Noble Public Schools Foundation runs an alumni campaign called "Battle of the Bears." Graduates are invited to give back on behalf of their class year. The money funds classroom grants — forever. It's a fitting way to describe how we think about this district: every generation owes something to the next, and the work is never finished.
We're a small town with big ambitions. We're proud of where we come from. And we're ready for whoever wants to come grow with us — student or staff, neighbor or new arrival.
What makes us different
Small enough to know every kid
With a 17:1 student-to-teacher ratio and five close-knit schools, our teachers learn names, strengths, and stories — not just test scores.
A path for every learner
From PreK through high school, plus a virtual academy and AP coursework, families can find the right pace and place for their student at every stage.
The Rose Rock Capital of the World
Our hometown is the only place on Earth officially designated for Oklahoma's state rock — and that one-of-a-kind identity shapes our pride and our place.
Built on a century of community
Education in Noble dates back to 1890. Generations of families have walked these halls, and our alumni stay close enough to come back and coach the next ones.
A district bigger than its borders
Noble Public Schools serves families across south-central Cleveland County — in Noble, Slaughterville, and parts of rural south Norman — because no kid should miss out based on a zip code.
A foundation behind every classroom
The Noble Public Schools Foundation funds teacher grants, student scholarships, and innovation projects, so great ideas don't wait for next year's budget.
Friday night under the lights
Bear pride runs deep. Our 5A athletics, 5A marching band, and theater company turn ordinary weekends into traditions families remember for life.
Minutes from the University of Oklahoma
Just south of Norman and a half-hour from downtown Oklahoma City, our students grow up with a major research university, a state capital, and a national lab in their backyard.
