Bears Esports

Competitive gaming is a real team sport at Noble — with rosters, practices, league matches against other schools, and a live broadcast of every competition. Whether you want to compete, cast, or run the tech behind the stream, there's a seat for you.

What Is Esports?

Esports is organized, competitive video gaming — teams of students competing head-to-head against other schools in structured league play, complete with seasons, standings, and playoffs. It's one of the fastest-growing activities in education, and it runs like any other Noble team: real practices, real eligibility requirements, real coaching, and real Bear pride.

What We Play

Rocket League, Super Smash Bros.

Why Esports?

A team for every Bear

Esports reaches students who haven't found their place in traditional sports or clubs — and research shows students connected to a school activity perform better in the classroom. For many players, this is where school starts to feel like home.

Real skills, real growth

Communication, teamwork, leadership, coachability, and the ability to adapt under pressure — the same skills traditional athletics build, developed in front of a keyboard instead of on a field.

Healthy competition, online and off

Online gaming culture isn't always kind. Our coaches mentor students in sportsmanship and positive online behavior, and every Bear is expected to compete with respect. Esports at Noble is for everyone.

College & career pathways

Colleges and universities across Oklahoma and the country field esports teams, with scholarships ranging from $1,000 to full tuition — and behind every player are broadcasters, technicians, marketers, and analysts. Our program builds both. See schools offering esports scholarships.

How to Join

Roger Clement

Esports Head Coach

Interested in joining? Email the coach or listen for announcements about interest meetings at the start of each season. Every participant needs a parent/guardian permission form on file — forms come from the coaches — and must meet the eligibility requirements below.

Eligibility & Team Rules

Parent/Guardian Permission

All students participating must fill out the parental permission form, provided to students by the coaches. Students will not be permitted to participate, nor spectate, without this form on file.

Grades, Attendance & Behavior

To participate, students must meet the minimum extracurricular requirements set by Noble Public Schools, found in the student handbook.

  • Students must be in good attendance standing in all classes, with no more than 9 absences per academic semester. Emergency absences do not count toward this requirement.
  • Students must be in good behavioral standing. A student who has received teacher detention (TD), in-school suspension (ISP), out-of-school suspension (OSS), or any combination is not eligible to participate or spectate for a minimum of one week from the date received.

Unfair Play & Penalties

The following actions are considered unfair play and will result in a one-week suspension from participation:

  • The use of any cheat program and/or map hack program
  • An intentional disconnection without a proper and explicitly stated reason
  • Unsportsmanlike conduct or disruptive behavior, such as inappropriate and/or unprofessional actions or inappropriate language
  • The intentional use of a game bug or error
  • The use of an ineligible player (e.g., "ringing")
  • Sharing accounts between team members or nonmembers
  • Unauthorized obstructions to match scheduling (e.g., lateness)

If unfair play is determined more than three times over the course of the school year, the student will be removed from the esports club/league.

Every match, live on the Bears Esports stream — pull up a chair and cheer from anywhere.
