"Good curriculum begins by asking all teachers to document the content and skills they teach and then providing opportunities for them to talk with one another about their real classroom teaching and how those practiced affect our students".           Dr. Susan Udelhofen

In January, 2006, Noble Public Schools started on a journey of converting their curriculum guides into a more fluid format that would offer greater consistency amongst grade levels and departments.  The process implemented is known as Curriculum Mapping.    The goals of NPS’s Curriculum Maps is to: a) assure more consistency in the instruction that we provide our students, b) assure that the official curriculum is also the operational curriculum, c) assure that the Priority Academic Student Skills that are being assessed by the State Department of Education are being covered, and d) offer the teachers and instrument that will support and allow for effective teacher collaboration.  As Dr. Susan Udelhofen stated about curriculum, it has been these types of activities that have led to Noble's “consensus maps”.  It is our intention, to use these consensus maps as we continue to collaborate amongst our colleagues and search for those “best proven practices.”
